WE WANT YOU !

We are now looking for volunteers to help us out with various things here at the IGI, including making the next IGI Awards even better than this one. If you're interested, get in touch by contacting us at events or sending a message to Kristján Friðbertsson or Jóhannes Sigurðsson via the website. Note however that if you plan to take part in the next IGI Awards you would be unable to also be in the committee planning and executing that particular process.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE for IGIA 2010 is passed and was APRIL 6TH 2010. Details are still available for reference http://igi.is/group/igia10/forum/topics/igia10-submission-details-the

UPCOMING EVENTS:
  • IGI AWARDS CEREMONY: SAT. MAY 29TH 2010 @HR, starts 2PM - details to be announced...

Discussion forums contain all the key IGIA10 updates.

Note: we would like to highlight two key things from the rules
  • originality of idea is a very big factor, so new and innovative game concepts (or innovative expressions of an existing concept) are likely to score higher than reworkings of existing concepts.
  • any games already released/launched/announced/advertised before the IGIA10 process started are unfortunately not eligible

Are you guys going to be exhibiting your entries tomorrow?
Kári Sigurðsson Comment by Kári Sigurðsson on May 27, 2010 at 1:11am
Hi,

i wanted to show you guys the project i was working on for IGI. I worked hard on creating a First person shooter engine, but eventually i lost interest and i focused more on schoolwork And since i didn't submit anything for the IGI contest and i doubt i'll ever add anything to it again i thought it would be nice to let people try it out :)

You can get it at: http://rapidshare.com/files/391939836/Fps.rar.html

You're going to need a good graphics card to play the game.

Ack! I'm only seeing this now, I won't be able to make the one year aniversary meetup!

/sad

but ... why the wacky date?

Postponing is understandable but the choice of a date is kinda crazy.
Jóhannes Sigurðsson Comment by Jóhannes Sigurðsson on May 12, 2010 at 1:35am
Yes, Einar.. It's my bad really :\
I'm slowly taking over more of the maintenance work (and responsibility) at IGI.is and truth be told I simply forgot about updating the event here, beginners mistake :S
It's up now though :)

I will be available tomorrow at the meetup to take the blame for it, in the form of a beer. Which means everyone who would like to point blame at me,would have to show up ;)

Aggreed Kjartan :\
Now If we could just move the election and euro-vision to another date, that would be fantastic.
Kjartan Akil Jónsson Comment by Kjartan Akil Jónsson on May 11, 2010 at 6:09pm
To bad about the date though. Everybody I know will most likely focus on election or euro-vision.
IGI deserve more attention than this. Especially since it is the first of its kind in Iceland.

Oh, so there's a meetup tomorrow? There wasn't anything posted in "events".
